A Study on Vibrio Parahaemolyticus Contamination of Fish and Shellfish Sold at Markets in Seoul City

Abstract
|
|
|
For the detection of vibrio parahaemolyticus, Bacteriological examimation was carried out from the sample of fish and shellfish. For this study 160 samples were collected at markets of Dong Dae Moon, Seo Dae Moon, Bool Kwang Dong, Shin Chon and Nam Dae Moon from June to August 1971.
The results obtained were as Follow:
1. The number of vibrio parahaemolyticus isolated from the sample of fish and shellfish(160) were 27 strains. (16.8%)
2. The 27 of isolated strains agglutinated to K-3, K-15, K-17, K-32, and K-42.
3. Bacteriological charcterization such as morphological, ecological biochemical results of 27 isolated strains were identified the category of typical vibrio parahaemolyticus differentiation.
4. The 70% of the 27 isolated strains demonstrated relative toxicity through the experiment of mouse inoculation.
5. Hemolysis poitive strains among the 27 isolated strains were found out 1 strain. (3.7%)
